Welcome to my blog - my ramblings about trying to find healthy, affordable gluten free food in St. John's, NL.
Despite being gluten free, I love to try new products and am always interested to hear about new places to eat.
I try to help the environment and purchase organic products where possible.

Kinnikinnick SOFT Bread - Review
Yesterday was an exciting day -I received my two giant boxes from Kinnikinnick with the new SOFT bread products! Before I even had all the boxes unpacked I had to try a slice of bread. The loaf is bigger than the previous loaves and has a soft feel when you press down the package (like real non-GF bread). I put Nutella on my slice - no toaster - and ate the entire thing without a drink! That's impressive! Usually GF products are on the dry, crumbly side and require significant liquid - not this bread! It was absolutely fantastic. If I was blindfolded I would probably think someone was feeding me non GF bread!MMM soft chewy fresh white bread. I don't think you can ask for much more! Not only is the bread the most tasty bread ever - it also has the heart and stroke seal of approval. One of my biggest annoyances with GF products in general is the lack of fortifying ingredients and fibre they contain. Kinnikinnick has it covered! Per two slices of the white bread (yes white yummy bread), there is 5 grams of fibre, 140 calories and no preservatives! Kinnikinnick really deserves a medal for this one! stay tuned - I have a hamburger bun to test out for lunch!
