On Monday night meeting members went to supper - the restaurant was called Terroni and it was an Italian Restaurant. I was a little nervous about going there as I didn't see anything clearly gluten free on the online menu, but figured I would give it a try! Most of the dishes were pasta and pizza, however they had some lovely salads and were knowledgeable about gluten free diets. The waiter said all their meats were gluten free, and any veggies. I had their Nizzarda salad which had tuna, red onion, egg, potato, olives and green beans. While it may sound odd, it was actually quite good and filled me up!
While I was browsing at Sobeys, I also came across some brownies made by Sweets from the Earth, The one I purchased had walnuts as well. This is actually a Toronto Vegan bakery that is also egg and dairy free. The brownies had a nice crunch to the outside and were moist and chewy inside. I wish I would have bought more! You can't get those here either!
All in all, it was a fun trip, found some new products and can't wait to go again and do some more gluten free shopping!
