About Me

Welcome to my blog - my ramblings about trying to find healthy, affordable gluten free food in St. John's, NL.
Despite being gluten free, I love to try new products and am always interested to hear about new places to eat.
I try to help the environment and purchase organic products where possible.

Enjoy :)

Rudi's Gluten Free Bread Review

Ah - my adventures in Florida continue. At Publix, I picked up a frozen loaf of Rudi's Gluten Free white bread. It was only $3.99 for a regular size gluten free loaf (about 15-17 slices).

While the bread is not organic, Rudi's doesn't use GMOs in their foods (their other line of regular breads are organic).

The texture of the bread is soft and wonderful. It is a little lighter than Kinnikinnick, and has that wonderful white bread taste - sometimes you just want some good home made white bread :)

It is good both toasted and plain - and makes a wonderful avocado sandwich. I am hoping Real Food Market might be able to get it in as they sell the regular Rudi's line.

Here's to hoping I can find this product in NL in the near future!

UPDATE: you can purchase Rudi's from Canadian Alternative Foods - It's $6.49 a bag and flat rate shipping of $12 for Canada. They have cinnamon raisin, original, and multigrain :)

  1. If you get back to the states again you absolutely MUST try their new line of tortillas. Im seriously blown away. They are simply amazing. My bf couldnt even tell they are gf. I only tried the plain variety but they taste and FOLD (no cracking!) just like regular flour tortillas! I paid a ridiculously inflated price for them (thanks, Whole Foods!) @ almost 1.00 per tortilla, but Im still claiming they are worth every penny! http://www.rudisglutenfree.com/fact_sheet/gluten-free-tortillas/
